
ABOUT CHRIS
Chris is a Chartered Town Planner and Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation with over 30 years experience of planning in both the public and private sector. Gaining two degrees in planning by 1991 he worked in Local Authorities for 6 years before specialising in building conservation. He achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Building Conservation in 1998 from Bournemouth University and worked as Senior Conservation Officer at Durham City Council from 1999 until 2006 when he established a consultancy specialising in historic buildings and planning.
Over the last 20 years Chris has proven his ability to work successfully in the historic environment with a wide range of fellow professionals to achieve complex projects including project managers, archaeologists, engineers and ecologists. He has a wide understanding of technical construction and engineering issues in the historic environment. Providing a consultancy Conservation Officer service to several Local Authorities has maintained close contact with the public sector and broadened the range of buildings and areas in which Chris has worked.
